vaporized the steel tower at Alamogordo, New Mexico.

“Our vegetable love will grow, vaster than empires and more
slow.”
No idea where or why that quote came from. Know the whole poem,
of course, brain littered up with old bits and pieces.
“Pieces of eight!” screamed the parrot.
Wouldn’t you, if you were a parrot had learned how?
Felicity [Mason}, describing me to someone holding tickets I
needed:
“When you see someone who looks like the saddest man in the world, that’s him.”
How can a man who sees and feels be other than sad.
To see Ginger always older and weaker.
The price of immortality, of course.
Well, you should have thought of these things.
I did. Thinking is not enough.
Nothing is. There is no final enough of wisdom, experience – any
fucking thing. No Holy Grail, No Final Satori, no final solution. Just
conflict.
Only thing can resolve conflict is love, like I felt for Fletch
and Ruski, Spooner and Calico. Pure love.
What I feel for my cats present and past.
Love? What is It?
Most natural painkiller what there is.
LOVE.

“I know him by reputation. He’s the darndest fellow. He’ll bet on anything. If one of his mistresses – and that’s a story in itself – if one of his mistresses dived out of a hotel window he’d bet on which end hit the pavement first, her head or her tail.”

“She must see only the most meager outer part of people, I decided. Must be aware of them in terms only of their coercive or non-coercive effects on her… (…) And so odd that this girl had helped create the almost likable electronic simulacrum, as if on some subconscious level she was aware of the massive deficiency in herself, the emptiness dead center, and was busy compensating for it…”

3 days to go…
Every person has right to choose, every free person. Still, we tend to limit our choices, we are lazy, we rather give away control to others than control our lives. That kills freedom. That is a fact. That is something I decided to fight with!
I could write about many examples of how we leave choices to others, and often let them exploit our lack of knowledge, but I would like to point to one certain case – operating system!
It is a great experiment for all conscious people to try using Linux for some time. And if we try, and if we complain that it is complicated, hard, useless – we complain because someone gave us total freedom of choice; what program to use, where and how store files, what layout to put on desktop, etc., etc., and what is more prominent – all of that given to us absolutely free of charge. There should be none space left for complain, but still there is. And we tend to exploit that, and here you get the proof that we tend to give away freedom. Because freedom is not an easy path to take.
That’s the essential difference between Linux and Windows – one is open, and free (free as in freedom, not as in free beer) other is total control and proprietary. One is complicated because of so many different good ideas mixed up in it, other is simple because all the programs were chosen, dedicated, controlled, checked specially for “everyman”.
We have to wait 3 more days for new Ubuntu Linux (9.10), maybe it is time to consider switching off Windows for a while, and start learning how to be free in computerized world. That change won’t be easy, it is common thing with all learning processes – but if you take on that path, I promise you – in no time you will be happy with the choice. And do be honest – being “free”, “open”, and other moral things is only cover for what is the most essential thing about Linux – and that is, amounts of time, frustration, unnecessary effort you will be saving with Linux is absolutely fucking enormous! When you compare it with ms Windows.
Go on! Make the first step to your freedom… www.ubuntu.com
